At some point, most people will either witness or be involved in an accident, or experience a medical or mental health emergency
Knowing what to do can potentially save lives
If a person's mental or emotional state quickly worsens, this can be treated as a mental health emergency or mental health crisis. In tjhis situation, it is important to get help as quickly as possible. Diall 111 to find out what help is available. If you feel a person is in immediate danger dial 999.
When the surgery is closed and you require urgent medical assistance which cannot wait until the surgery reopens call 111. Calls to the NHS 111 service are free from both landlines and mobiles. The NHS 111 service will aim to provide you with the best care for your situation. This could include advice on self-care, a visit to the pharmacy, a routine or next day GP appointment - or referral to an out of hours GP.

A large range of common illnesses can be treated at home with simple over-the -counter medications and rest.
Minor Ailments - Practice
Practice Nurse Prescribers offer minor illness appointments daily
Our Nurse Prescribers can help with many conditions including: cystitis earache, thrush, rashes, sore eyes, and sore throats. They can issue prescriptions but antibiotics will only be prescribed if the clinical indications are appropriate.

Your GP Practice can deal with a wide range of general health problems and refer when required.
Minor Injuries

Urgent treatment centres are a facility that you can go to if you need urgent medical attention, but its not a life-threatening situation. Urgent Treatment Centres are GP-led and open for at least 12 hours a day - every day pf the week.
You may be referred to an Urgent Treatment Centre by NHS 111 or by a GP. You can also just turn-up and walk-in. They are equipped to diagnose and treat many of the most common ailments that people go with to hospital A & E Departments
